Ichthyosaurus is the Head member of the ichthyosaur group. These animals are the mesozoic equivalent to dolphins with long teethed snouts and powerful flukes dorsal and pectoral fins. Ithchyosaurus grew to almost 3 meters long and weighed around 200 pounds. A relative of Ichthyosaurus Opthalmosaurus has the largest eye to body ratio of any vertebrae. Allowing Ichthyosaurs to quickly see movement and see better in low depths and night. Icthyosaurs gave live birth with the pup coming out face first and rushing to the surface to take it’s first breath of air. Ichthyosaurus mainly hunted fish and squid
