Locations: Australia

Characteristics

The last living member of the Temnospondyl family Koolasuchus has to be one of the Koolest amphibians. Living in Early Cretaceous southern Australia, which at the time was closer to the equator yet had a Kooler climate. It was around 12 to 15 feet long and over half a ton. Living in the murky swamps, Koolasuchus had a lifestyle very similar to a crocodile, eating mostly fish but the occasional mammal and small dinosaur that wandered into its marsh. It wasn't until crocodiles evolved into existence within Australia from the warmer climates that they were more suited to that Koolasuchus went extinct.
