Majungasaurus was the apex predator of ancient Madagascar. It was an abelisaurid, a group that had short legs meant for ambush hunting and short, round snouts meant for biting with high force like the pitbuls of the theropod world. It grew to around 23 feet and 2,200 pounds at adulthood. It had very small arms with immovable elbow joints and no wrists for it’s four digit hands. On it’s head was a small horn that was only a display feature it was to weak for any other function and it looks rather silly a contrast to the viscous carnivore Majungasaurus was. Being one of two known cannibalistic dinosaurs, the other was Allosaurus. It’s unlikely to be a frequent behavior only out of environmental stress a Majungasaurus might canibalize, as the Maevarano formation was a rough place to live indicated by Majungasaurus had particularly slow growth rate compared to other dinosaurs of it's size taking 20 years to reach maturity. Animals in rough conditions tend to grow slower to use less energy. Majungasaurus main food source was the sauropod Rapetosaurus but it ate anything it could sink it’s teeth into like Masiakasaurus Beelzebufo Simosuchus, and Adalatherium.

Prehistoric Planet A half blind female Majungasaurus was in Season 2 Episode 1 'Islands' It's main scene is it hunting Simosuchus and getting humiliated as it gets intimidated by the Simosuchus' leg kicks and reverse charges even though it's the size of a cat. Said methods gave it time to escape to it's burrow where it's broad snout can't reach it. The same Majungasaurus is also in the Aladatherium scene.
Jurassic FranchiseMajungasaurus is a common creature in both Jurassic World Alive and Jurassic World the Game being one of the first species obtained in both games. Majungasaurus also appears in season 2 of Camp Cretaceous where it cannibalizes another Majungasaurus and terrorizes the rest of the cargo ship after it escapes. Later in Africa manages to defeat a Suchomimus in a fight which in reality the fight would be skewed in the Suchomimus’s favor due to its size advantage. This Majungasaurus is referred to as Major in Jwtg. Jurassic World Evolution's Majungasaurus is as of now one of two abelisaurids in the games the other is Carnotaurus. Majungasaurus was re-added in the February 2026 free update for Jurassic World Evolution 3
Jurassic Fight Club Doesn't deserve any images, it's the first episode and they don't even use the right name calling Majungasaurus Majungatholus. A male tries to mate with a female and fails then attempts to kill the child to put the female in heat, like a lion. Succeeds then the female kills the male and cannibalizes them both. The male has a funny looking throat pouch ill give it that.
