Characteristics ~ ~ ~ ~
Brachiosaurus has a very pleasant name to say until you realize it directly translates to Arm lizard. Named this since its forearms are drastically larger than its back legs giving it great posture and allowing it to reach the highest tree branches. Brachiosarus was remarkably large, averaging around 45 feet tall and around 28 to 48 metric tons. Reaching adulthood meant a brachiosaurus was at that point invincible to the other dinosaurs of the Morrison formation. Its neck also had air sacs to keep it light and not exhaust the animal. Brachiosaurus had a small crest structure adorning the top of its head which was likely to make resonating calls that other Brachiosaurus can hear over long distances. It’s estimated that Brachiosaurus and other sauropods could live over 100 years. Their large size was great, but they had to eat over 400 pounds of leaves daily to maintain their weight. The Morrison formation was dominated by Sauropods other species like Brachiosaurus that likely coexisted with Brachiosaurs are Diplodocus Barosaurus Apatosaurus Camarasaurus Supersaurus and Haplocanthosaurus . Other notable animals are potential predators Allosaurus and Torvosaurus as well as Stegosaurus, Dryosaurus, Ceratosaurus.
