Characteristics ~ ~ ~ ~

Diabloceratops is one of the smaller ceratopsians at around 15 feet long and around 2860 pounds. It had two horns coming from each of its brows that were typical of other ceratopsians. But it had another pair of horns that it’s named after extending from the top of the frill that bent outward. These horns look very exaggerated and could have likely only been used in display because of their unusual shape. In the lush flood plains of Utah Diabloceratops lived with the predator Lythronax hadrosaurs Acristavus and Adelolophus ankylosaurs hadrosaurs and maniraptorans. Diabloceratops closest relative is considered to be Machairoceratops the bent sword horn face; both were around the same size and in the same place and time, but still had drastically different horn arrangements. Diabloceratops is from the group Centrosaurinae which is known for it’s unusual horn arrangements and the lack of a nasal horn.

History & Fossils ~ ~ ~ ~

Diabloceratops has only had one fossil UMNH VP 16699 discovered by Don DeBlieux; it's a complete skull and lower jaw. Another specimen from 1988 but described in 2010 UMNH VP 16704 has been placed under Diabloceratops but it probably isn't part of the genus.

Media Deptictions ~ ~ ~ ~

Jurassic World Alive and The Game both share a pretty ugly Diabloceratops model it's not even good in either of the games, no hybrids just pure filler. It was rumored that Diabloceratops would appear in Jurassic World Rebirth alongside Carnotaurus because of a set of funko pops (I really hate funko pops)releasing alongside the movie however it and Carnotaurus never appeared in the film. There is a pretty cool Creative Beasts Studios figure of Diabloceratops though
